Well, I guess I’m writing these again. I won’t lie—it feels good to be back.
What prompted this post is that I came across an old sketch we created with the engineer I designed the bakkie with. At the time, our development partners had an electric rolling chassis that was originally developed for GT cars, so I asked him what our own GT car would look like. The sketch below is what we came up with.
A couple of years later—which brings us to now—I decided to upload that image and use AI to see how a 3D model of the sketch might look. While it didn’t come out exactly like the sketch (it’s more of a sedan, kind of in the Tesla/Lucid Air territory), I still found it really interesting.
So while this is just a concept car, I thought I’d share these images with you. On top of that, we’re in the process of creating a proper 3D model, and if there’s enough interest, we’ll be selling 1:16 scale versions (possibly even remote-controlled). We think this could be a fun way to give our supporters something special, while also raising a little capital for our bigger dream—building South Africa’s first homegrown electric bakkie.
Update on the Bakkie
We’re still working tirelessly to make that dream a reality. Raising capital hasn’t been easy, but we’re exploring many different avenues to get there. There will definitely be a full update in the coming months.
