The Modular Rolling Chassis
MMC EV Platform
MMC EV Platform
The Fully Scalable and Modular EV Platform
We have developed a platform that combines E-Axle(electric motor, power electronics, and transmission), electrical and electronic architecture, thermal management solutions, scalable battery pack, and a Flexi frame.
Our initial goal was to use the platform of an existing supplier/OEM but due to slow turnout times and not being able to have full control on the design, engineering, and quick changes and improves we decided to develop our own skateboard platform.
Having a modular and scalable battery-electric platform allows us the ability and freedom to develop and bring more models to market quickly and at a fraction of the cost. We see this platform as a gateway to bringing models to market whether it’s Sport Utility Vehicles, Minibus taxi, or a hot hatch.
Our long term goal for this platform is that it can also be used other battery-electric vehicle start-ups in the continent and existing OEM’s which will accelerate the transition to a clean transportation system
Platform Overview
Our E-Axle features an electric motor, power electronics, and a transmission.
Designed for M1B Pick-Up, it has a power output of 250kW and a 1300Nm of torque.
The MMC EV Platform has a Thermal Management System designed to help cells maintain an optimum operating temperature.
Our current Thermal Management Systems are designed and optimized for the South African climate but with further tests and improvements will be made for the Northern Hemisphere and colder climates.
The MMC Platform is designed to fit and handle battery packs of different sizes for different vehicles and needs.
These are designed for reliability as well as lifespan, we believe that battery packs should be able to work reliably as per when they are required to and but should stand the test of time while being safe.
Thanks to computer-aided design, computer-aided engineering, and advanced analysis we can be able to design a Flexi Frame that combines strength and lightweight properties.
We use our cars differently and at different times, weather/temperatures, and speeds.
Battery-Electric Vehicles of tomorrow need a battery Management System that can learn your usage of the battery pack and learn to optimize it. This will help better the overall user experience while protecting the ack from wear down quickly and prematurely.
