Team: Vehicle Chassis, Suspensions & Frame
Description:
- Lead development of hydro-pneumatic suspension systems
- Lead development of steering systems
- Lead development of braking systems
- Lead development of tire/wheel systems
- Lead new design concepts from idea to implementation on production vehicles
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems
- Verify design using analysis and or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions, and assess risk
- Responsible for accuracy of detail drawings directly or as collaboration with designers
- Identify and assess possible suppliers for production of products
- Work with other functional areas within the vehicle development team to ensure that all vehicle interfaces are defined and supported
- Create and maintain component and system DVP&R
- Create and maintain system EBOM
- Support vehicle testing, rig testing, and Hardware-In-the-Loop simulations to demonstrate system functionality
- Manage system quality, cost and timing to ensure high quality program deliverables
- Support vehicle prototype builds as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related degree
- Experience direct automotive chassis work
- Design or development experience in chassis or powertrain controls
- Experience with relevant quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with hydro-pneumatic suspension systems
- Working experience developing steering systems
- Working experience developing suspension systems
- Working experience developing braking systems
- Working experience developing tire/wheel systems
- Great leadership and communication skills
- Experience with objective testing of vehicles for handling, steering, ride, braking, tires.
- Experience with regulatory compliance testing
- Substantial background in designing complex parts required
- Working knowledge of Solidworks/Fusion360/Siemens NX and Solidworks Fusion360/Siemens NX Simulation tools
- PLP/GD&T, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and experience with engineering standards required
- Ability to contribute in all vehicle systems by using knowledge in thermal, materials, and hydraulic disciplines required
- Creative, innovative, decisive, and prone to action
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment
Team: Vehicle Dash & Instrumentation
Description:
- Lead a team in the design and development of the vehicles electrical and electronic architecture
- Define low voltage wire harness and interconnection architecture
- Define communication network architecture and integrate vehicle communication systems
- Work on wiring and connector requirements to support harness builds
- Specify and select hardware such as sensors, actuators, controllers, etc.
- Work with suppliers to ensure performance and timing expectations are met
- Design, build, and use test bench setups for system testing and validation
- Build internal hardware and software tools to improve quality and efficiency
- Process and analyze test results and provide analysis, insight, and feedback for development
- Develop and implement system, sub-system, and component design validation plans
- Develop and implement product validation plans with suppliers
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field Masters in Engineering is a plus
- Experience working in structured engineering process including definition of requirements and objective functions, concept creation, market analysis for components, analyzing options, and making final engineering decisions.
- Experience with wiring harness design and design for manufacturing required.
- Knowledge of and experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, PLC II, RS485, SPI, Wireless 802.11
- Hands-on wiring harness build and installation experience
- Experience with PCB design, layout, and manufacturing
- Experience with modeling and simulation of vehicle electrical systems using MATLAB
- Experience with vehicle controller software rapid prototyping software tools could be useful
- Experience working in Agile project management environment and version control software could be useful
Team: Vehicle Computer Systems
Description:
- Define and document system, sub-system, and component functional and performance requirements.
- Lead electrical component selections for one or more vehicle systems
- Design and execute component, sub-system, and system design validation plan
- Define and document electrical and communication interfaces to the rest of the vehicle electrical system
- Support harness, electrical assembly, and vehicle integration builds
- Work with suppliers to ensure performance and timing expectations are met
- Design, build, and use test bench setups for system testing and validation
- Build internal hardware and software tools to improve quality and efficiency
- Process and analyze test data and provide analysis, insight, and feedback for development
- Assist in vehicle system modeling and simulation
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field required
- Previous vehicle electrical design and integration experience required
- Experience working in structured engineering process including definition of requirements and objective function, concept creation, market analysis for components, analyzing options, and making final engineering decisions.
- Experience working in Agile project management environment a plus
- Hands-on wiring harness build and installation experience a plus
- Experience with power electronics component design is a plus
- Knowledge of and experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Flexray, PLC, RS485, SPI, Wireless 802.11, DSRC etc. is a plus
